How to prepare for a photo shoot

Dear future photo model,

a photo shoot is a great way to enjoy the day and get beautiful photos for your portfolio. To make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible and you feel at ease, I have some tips for you to prepare for the shoot.

1. Skin and body care

Get plenty of sleep and hydration a few days before the shoot. This will make your skin look even more fresh and healthy.

The day before the shoot, you can treat yourself to a gentle exfoliation and don't forget to moisturise your skin - this will ensure you look natural and clean in your photos.

2. What to take with you

The photographer will usually determine the style of the shoot, so choosing an outfit isn't stressful. If you're shooting a fashion collection, you can bring accessories or pieces of clothing that fit the style conceptually. You don't have to use everything, but it's a shame not to have something. Don't forget white and black underwear so the color doesn't show through under different outfits.

It's also a good idea to have some small cosmetics with you, such as concealer.

3. Make-up, hair and shaving

If there is no makeup artist on site, prepare your hair and makeup in advance. As for shaving, a simple tip: use conditioner instead of shaving cream. This will prevent irritation and keep your skin smooth, which is ideal for photo shoots.

4. Hydration and diet

You'll have water available for the shoot, or you can bring your own drink, most girls prefer green tea. It's a good idea to eat 2-3 hours before the shoot, or if you can handle it and it won't have a negative impact on your psyche, skip the meal. There will definitely be something available on site for emergencies :)
